Start Where You Are: Scaling AI Support Across a Multi-College System in Canvas

When CCSNH set out to bring AI into Canvas, they didn't have a finished policy, a large team, or a big budget. What they had was a clear problem: seven colleges spread across rural New Hampshire, a mixed population of traditional and adult learners, and a support gap that office hours couldn't close.

This session tells the honest story of how a lean team deployed their first AI solution inside Canvas: not with a perfect strategy in place, but with a focus on student outcomes and a tool that met learners in their environment. We'll walk through what the adoption data actually showed, and how they prioritized student outcomes first, while building governance understanding in parallel. Attendees will walk away understanding how to implement an AI-powered support solution for different learner profiles across contexts, and how to encourage adoption.
