The questions we hear most from faculty
The institution and its administrators choose which courses and content the tutor can use, scoped by course and content type, not the whole LMS by default. Hidden files and unpublished material are never included. Where teacher customization is enabled, you can add your own supporting files and shape how the tutor behaves in your course, without changing the institution's underlying access controls. No. You set the scope, behavior, and tone for your own tutor and feedback assistant, including when the Tutor should refer the student for an office hour or a human tutoring session. Institutions and instructors have full autonomy when and where to use the tools. The tools work from what you're already teaching, it doesn't teach or grade in your place. We believe nothing can replace the real learning.
That's a real risk with open-ended chat tools, which is part of why LearnWise is built differently. Your tutor works from the material and structure you set, so it's designed to support the way you already teach, not offer a shortcut around it. For example, you can set it up to be Socratic and instead of giving quick answers, it always guides students to find the answer themselves.
Student data stays within your institution's own environment. It's never used to train AI models, and conversation data stays locked within the institutional ecosystem rather than shared or pooled elsewhere. LearnWise operates under FERPA, GDPR, SOC 2 Type II, and ISO 27001 compliance, with full documentation available at our Trust Center.
They are built into the LMS you already use, Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, or D2L Brightspace, so students and instructors aren't logging into something separate. Setup asks for what you already have: your course material and how you'd like the tutor to use it.
